Hello and welcome to my site. While you're here, you might want to find more out about me, have a look at the work I've been doing both professionally and when I was at university, and maybe even contact me if you want to say hello!
Having a strong knowledge of web development really helps my design process when designing for the web as I have a realistic view of the creative possibilities and technical constraints.
Usability, and its affect on accessibility, is an integral part of my design work and something I am constantly striving to improve. I read a lot into this and the three books that have particularly influenced and inspired me are Elements of User Experience, Defensive Design for the Web and Don’t Make Me Think
My interest started in HTML and CSS, but with the increasing demand for updatable web sites, learning how to use WordPress (and, to a lesser degree, TextPattern) as a content management system proved really useful. Although my passion is for visual design, I do get a scary satisfaction out of web development.
I’m a firm believer in developing for all the major web browsers. Despite my belief in making a site good for all those browsers, I believe that clarity of content and basic usability rules over pixel precision.
I’m a freelance web designer. I do all sorts of things from designing templates for web application interfaces to logos and poster designs.
