Speakr Website

June to July, 2012

It was great fun working on the Speakr website (in addition to the Speakr app) as I got to work with the fantastic Anna Debenham. I’m not used to designing sites (particularly responsive designs) without also doing the front end development so I was on my best behaviour, trying to provide the most useful and well-labelled designs as possible!

The look and feel of the site was defined by the designs I’d done for the Speakr app. We translated these across into the website and concentrated more on making it work on smaller viewports that we were with the app.

As Anna was developing the site at the same time as I was designing mockups, it often didn’t make sense for me to provide full Photoshop documents. A few times I just made quick wireframes and Anna applied the layout to the existing look and feel straight into the HTML and CSS.
